The InvestMaryland Challenge hosted by the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development and Inc. Magazine is a national seed and early-stage business competition. The Challenge awards $400,000 in grants and a host of business services to companies in the life sciences and high tech industries.
The competition originally began with 214 startups, but now only 12 finalists remain. Subject7 was one of the stars of the competition that captured the eyes of judges and audience members, and a result was selected as one of 12 finalists in the IT category. The report was originally delivered by Stephen Babcock in a Technical.ly Baltimore article titled “InvestMaryland Challenge names 12 finalists.”
Subject7 and its founder Payam Fard are graduates of the Washington DC Founder Institute. The company is a SaaS test automation platform that allows non-technical testers and business users automate their tests easily.
The Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development Division will announce a winner in each category on April 28. Winners of the challenge will receive $100,000 from the Maryland Venture Fund, and may also receive other benefits like consulting services, incubator spaces at the Army Research Lab and opportunities to pitch investors like NAV.VC and Camden Partners.
