MoveMate, the Montreal-founded moving marketplace started by FI Montreal grad Lucas Francioli, has been acquired by MovingWaldo, Canada's leading digital moving concierge platform.
MoveMate was founded in Montreal and grew into a nationally recognized moving marketplace. It expanded into the United States and built partnerships with major Canadian retailers, all on top of a technology-driven booking system built to prioritize transparency and customer experience.
That platform now joins MovingWaldo, which operates in 14 Canadian markets including Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, and Ottawa, supports nationwide and cross-border Canada to U.S. moves, and works with more than 100 verified moving partners. The acquisition adds MoveMate's technology, traffic, and brand assets to that network. MoveMate was acquired alongside Gvota.ca, a Quebec-based platform, in the same announcement.
Here's how Lucas put it:
"From day one, our focus was on simplifying the moving experience for Canadians. This outcome reflects the dedication of our team and the strength of the platform we built. Seeing it live on within MovingWaldo means that vision continues at a national scale."
Lucas went through Founder Institute Montreal in 2019. This is the kind of outcome the program exists to produce. Congratulations to him and the MoveMate team.
