However, we always tell our portfolio companies to celebrate the wins, so we are going to take our own advice and reminisce on what our amazing #FIworldwide network of portfolio companies, Local Leaders, and partners accomplished in 2018.
- Our portfolio companies surpassed $800M in total funding, seven of them were acquired (totaling over 35 overall), one of them was recognized by the World Economic Forum as a 'Technology Pioneer', and another was chosen as a finalist by NASA for a Commercial Lunar Payload contract.
- Our Local Leaders pushed the startup ecosystem forward worldwide, launching one of Canada's first Super-Angel Funds, raising a $100M venture fund in Southeast Asia, and speaking before the U.S. Congress on cryptocurrency regulation.
- Over 100 new Local Leaders were added to the #FIworldwide family, launching our first ever programs in places like Austin, Brasilia, Cairo, Jamaica, Luxembourg, Myanmar, Oslo, and more.
- Some of the world's largest companies helped us launch our first vertical programs, across fields like Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and Food/ Agri-tech.
