Silicon Valley Founder Institute graduate, Logrado, a social-mobile platform aimed at preparing students for college, recently announced they will be receiving a $100,000 grant to further develop their application. Logrado is one of 20 winners of the College Knowledge Challenge sponsored by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Facebook and College Summit. Together, these three powerhouses have teamed up to fund a $2.5 million dollar initiative to encourage the development of online education tools.
The contest, which launched back in September, called on developers of all ages to build innovative social education apps with easy to use college prep tools. The winners were announced this week and the story, including Logrados achievement, was featured in the TechCrunch article “The 20 Winners Of The Facebook, Gates Foundation Education App Contest Are Making College Easier”.
