Penny Bauder, who is currently enrolled in the Autumn 2012 San Diego Founder Institute, is already grabbing the attention of parents and children across the United States. Penny is the Founder and CEO of Green Kid Crafts, an ecommerce company that provides environmentally friendly arts and crafts for young children. Each month, subscribers receive a box containing three environmentally friendly crafts, suitable for children ages 3 - 8.

Offering both an opportunity for learning and creativity, the crafts in each box range from planting herbs to making simple games from recycled felt and ribbon. A big hit with parents, Green Craft Kids has already been featured in several major publications (Parenting Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine, and Wired to name a few), and has won several awards, including Green America’s People & Planet Award and most recently, the MACT (Mom Approved and Child Tested) Excellence and MACT Green Award, which you can read about here.

Green Kid Crafts began as a hobby in 2010 and has since turned into a rapidly growing business. To meet the demand and expand her company, Penny enrolled in the Founder Institute to perfect her business and entrepreneurial skills.
