As 2018 comes to a close, we recognize that Founder Institute portfolio companies have made amazing progress this past Fall-Winter season all across the world. From an edtech platform that recently closed the largest startup fundraising round in Chile in all of 2018, to an LA real estate investment platform that crossed the threshold of over $100 million in cash dispursement returned to investors, the progress is dizzying. Here are some of the recent highlights. 

U-Planner

U-Planner (Santiago FI Graduate) has raised $5 million in a funding round led by Scale Capital.

U-Planner is a technology platform designed for institutions of higher education, with more than 50 such universities and institutions already using their platform, including the Universtiy of Washington (USA), the Universidad Nacional Autónoma (Mexico), the Universidad Católica (Chile) and the University of Sydney (Australia). 

The Chilean edtech company has also recently been recognized by Microsoft, and was presented with Microsoft's Best Global Partner in Education Award.

Passel

Passel (Melbourne FI Graduate) has raised $300k in funding to enter the Irish market in time to catch the Christmas shopping season.

Passel is a crowdsourced parcel delivery service platform for brick-and-mortar retailers: helping shoppers earn rewards by delivering directly to fellow shoppers. 

The startup originally from Australia was recently selected as an SBIR awardee in the ​Smart Dublin Last Mile Delivery Challenge​, a global search seeking innovative, smart, and low-cost solutions to optimize freight and cargo deliveries in urban centres.

Flexible Pass

Flexible Pass (Yangon FI Graduate) has closed a $100k seed round with investors including Nest Tech, Seed Myanmar, and Yangon Capital Partners. 

Flexible Pass is a health and fitness platform that offers a monthly pass giving users access to more than 50 partner gyms and fitness centers in Yangon. 

The company was also named Startup of the Year as well as Best Healthy Lifestyle Tech Startup by the ASEAN Myanmar Rice Bowl Startup Awards 2017.

Realty Mogul

Realty Mogul (Los Angeles FI Graduate) has crossed the milestone of more than $100 million in investor cash disbursements.  

Realty Mogul is the leading crowdfunding investment platform for commercial real estate, and has over $2 billion in property financed through the platform.

Kindara

Kindara (New York FI Graduate) was acquired by Prima-Temp.  

Kindara is a women's fertility and digital health company, and Prima-Temp is another company pioneering chronobiological healthcare for women. 

Kindara offers one of the most popular fertility apps on the market with over 1.5 million downloads, which pairs with Wink by Kindara, a Bluetooth-connected thermometer that helps seamlessly track fertility data with greater ease and accuracy.
