The Founder Institute Vietnam has announced a new partnership with venture capital fund Insignia Venture Partners to provide all FI Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi program graduates with an investment of $50,000 USD, upon completion of the Founder Institute program.

This is the first such partnership for both the Founder Institute Vietnam chapter and Insignia Venture Partners, whereby all of the Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi chapters' newest Founder Institute graduate companies will be immediately eligible to receive the investment, irrespective of other considerations.

This announcement is another huge windfall for the burgeoning Vietnamese startup ecosystem, where 2018 saw a total of $889 million USD in startup investments, over 3X more than the previous year 2017 total startup investments of $291 million USD.

According to the founder of Insignia Venture Partners, Mr. Yinglan Tan, Vietnam has a vibrant startup market already showing huge potential. He believes that with the proper investment, Vietnamese startups can create more breakthroughs and continue to achieve success as global companies. Insignia Venture Partner’s investment structure demonstrates the firm’s solid commitment and confidence in the Founder Institute to develop the region’s top entrepreneurial talent.

Industries of interest to Vietnamese investors in previous years have included e-commerce, ed-tech, tourism technologies, and logistics. Other notable rising stars among previous Founder Institute Vietnam portfolio companies that have already attracted millions of dollars in investment include Appota, Atadi, and Logivan.
