Applications are now open for the Founder Institute's Australia NZ Spring 2026 semester. This is your opportunity to join the world's largest pre-seed startup accelerator and transform your idea into a fundable company.
All ANZ (Australia New Zealand) links in one place: https://linktr.ee/foundingANZ
The startup accelerator program is designed for founders at the earliest stages up to early revenue or funding. Whether you have a nascent idea, a prototype in progress, or early customer traction, the Australia NZ cohort provides the structure, mentorship, and accountability needed to build real momentum.
What the Accelerator covers:
Founders or founding teams work through a curriculum that has been refined over 17 years and tested by more than 8,000 portfolio companies worldwide. The structure is intense by design.
Founders attend weekly sessions on Zoom (online) and optional face to face networking sessions in larger cities, complete assignments between meetings, and receive direct feedback from experienced operators, mentors and investors who understand the Australian and New Zealand (ANZ) market. Each session builds on the last. Each deliverable/deadline forces you to test assumptions in the real world, not just theorise in a deck.
The program covers the core disciplines every early-stage founder must master:
- Customer development
- Business model / Revenue model
- Building a founding team
- Fundraising preparation
This is not a lecture series. Every module includes hands-on assignments that push you to validate or invalidate your assumptions with real customers, real partners, and real market data.
Mentorship from Operators Who Have Been There
The Australia NZ cohort is supported by a network of local mentors who have built, scaled, and exited companies. These are not advisors who show up once for a fireside chat. They provide weekly feedback during sessions and are available for one-on-one advising throughout the program.
Mentors help you navigate the specific challenges of the Australian startup ecosystem. They know the investors, the talent market, the regulatory landscape, and the GTM go-to-market nuances that can make or break an early-stage company in this region.
Who should Apply:
The accelerator is built for founders who are serious about turning an idea into a business, not those looking for a casual exploration of entrepreneurship. You should apply if:
- You have a startup idea you are ready to commit to part-time with serious intent
- You want structured accountability and are willing to do the work between sessions
- You are coachable and open to feedback that may challenge your assumptions
- You want access to a global network of founders, exited founders, mentors, and investors
Founder Institute does not require you to quit your job or have a polished pitch deck. It requires you to show up, do the work, and iterate based on feedback.
