The Founder Institute has teamed up with GeekWire to help find the best one-sentence pitch in Seattle. The Startup Pitch Competition is open to any Seattle-area entrepreneur; simply submit your one-sentence pitch in the comment thread of this post.
The top pitch will earn a full scholarship for the upcoming Seattle Founder Institute, where Founders have access to top-notch mentors from around the world and receive invaluable feedback to help launch the next best technology startup. In addition to that prize, the winner will also receive a ticket to GeekWire's Startup Awards on May 9th.
So why are you limited to only one sentence? According to Adeo, “Getting a one sentence pitch right is challenging. As a Founder, you will pitch your business hundreds of times to cofounder prospects, to partners, to team members and to investors. You need to grab the listener’s attention quickly, so being able to explain your idea in one sentence is critical.”
Submissions will be judged by Adeo Ressi; Google's Dan Shapiro; Hark co-founder David Aronchick; Gist founder T.A. McCaan; Henry Albrecht of Limeade; Enrique Godreau of 9Mile Labs; Matt Shobe of Feedburner; David Bluhm of Z2; Russel Benaroya of EveryMove, Joel Espelien of Cart Blanche; and Rudy Gadre of Facebook.
The winners will be announced on GeekWire sometime next week, so be sure to check back to see who’s pitch reigned supreme. The deadline to submit your one sentence pitch is Monday, March 18th at 9pm PDT.
