With its many corporate headquarters’, Shanghai may have the single largest base of talented employees in any city worldwide. At the same time, however, the startup ecosystem in the city is largely undeveloped, and aspiring entrepreneurs don’t have many options to receive guidance and mentorship. The Founder Institute aims to provide the training that will help Shanghai’s top corporate talent start building new and sustainable companies, which can play a large role in the city’s future" - Adeo Ressi, Founder & CEO of the Founder Institute
In just 5.5 years of existence, the Silicon Valley-based Founder Institute has helped aspiring technology entrepreneurs launch over 1,400 companies, which have created over 10,000 new jobs. Through its four-month training and startup launch program, promising entrepreneurs can “learn by doing” and launch a company with structured training, feedback, and support from experienced startup CEOs. Plus, aspiring founders are not required to quit their day job to participate, so they can begin building a business around their ideas without putting their livelihood at risk. Founder Institute Graduate companies include fast-rising startups across 6 continents like iCarsClub, Udemy, Realty Mogul, Itembase, goplaceit, Appota, and many more.
Leading the Founder Institute’s efforts in Shanghai are three of the area’s top startup evangelists; Daniel Shi, Fiona Wang, and Dengfeng Guan.
Daniel Shi is a serial entrepreneur, startup investors, and Founder of 0.618 InfoTech (successful exit) and 23seed.
