Digital Media Zone (DMZ) at Ryerson University, Canada’s largest business incubator for emerging tech startups launched MasterCard Women in Entrepreneurship, a $60,000 program designed to fuel the success of six women-led startups through cash prizes and placement at DMZ. The program, supported by a generous donation from MasterCard, aims to strengthen the DMZ’s community of female founders and co-founders and support these women as they scale their businesses.

After reviewing 50 applications, Toronto Founder Institute grad Mywedhelper was selected as a winner and will begin their placement at DMZ on June 9. The report was originally delivered by Jaclyn Tersigni in a DMZ article titled “Introducing the winners of the MasterCard Women in Entrepreneurship program”.

Mywedhelper and its founder Neeti Passi are graduates of the Toronto Founder Institute. Mywedhelper is an online wedding platform that connects South Asian couples to wedding vendors based on their wedding dates, preferences and budget.

Its founder Neeti has over 15 years of experience with technology in the corporate sector. She started Mywedhelper as a mission to pursue her dream as an entrepreneur. The idea for her company came from personal experiences planning her own wedding.
