With over 2,000 active languages, Africa is the most linguistically diverse place on earth. Sadly, however, these languages are slowly fading into history.

However, if ever there were proof that African entrepreneurs, possess the ingenuity, innovation, talent, and self-belief to solve African challenges, when supported, Founder Institute Ghana alum Etornam Fianoo-Vidza and her graduate company SPiiKA Inc are building a platform to help Africans in the diaspora connect with their roots through language.

SPiiKApp - a language learning App that is focused on helping preserve African languages and culture by making them fun and easy to learn - is increasingly giving a voice to so many African languages unavailable on Duolingo or any other mobile App.

But as a startup addressing such a huge uphill challennge, they cannot do this on benevolence, or for the love of culture and language alone.

They need support and that's what we're graciously asking for.

Today Spiika are launching a Crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to further develop their platform, and both Etor and I are asking for your help to get behind this fantastic initiative.

There are two key ways you can support the campaign:

1. cash contribution (for which givers will receive a language package in return)

2, sharing her campaign with your network.

You can of course do both too!
