The Institute has started reviewing Founders for the Summer 2009 Semester, and, after processing a couple dozen applications, the candidates are all strong. Over 70% of the Founders have been approved for the next step, which is a brief personality test, and no applicant has been eliminated. Those applicants reviewed include a blend of first-time Founders, people running companies, and seasoned entrepreneurs across technology, healthcare, and green industries.
The Institute will work to finish reviewing the first 75 applications by Saturday, May 9th. For Founders in the Bay Area, you will receive an invitation to take the personality test in our offices, providing an opportunity to meet and ask questions. For those planing to attend remotely, the test will also be made available online, and remote participants will be invited to ask questions about the program in a conference call. Founders will be contacted through email, and anyone who applied as either a Mentor or Founder can login to the site and see their application status on the right hand side.
For those who are curious, the personality test was specifically designed for the Institute by leading researchers at ExamCorp. The test is not designed to eliminate Founders from the program. Over the next few years, the Institute hopes that historical test results will help to to identify Founders who are likely to succeed in the program.
We are very exited to meet everyone and launch the first session on May 19th at Stanford University.
