This May, Ultimatum Inc. and iDEAQUEST are inviting people to share their personal stories around mental health and wellness using the hashtag #Care4Us. Each post on Twitter that uses the hashtag #Care4Us will activate a donation to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). The first $500 in donations will be matched by the Ultimatum campaign sponsor, iDEAQUEST.
Founder Institute San Francisco portfolio company Ultimatum Inc. has teamed up with iDEAQUEST in launching a new campaign to help reduce the stigma for individuals who struggle with their mental health. Mark Montalban is the Founder & CEO of iDEAQUEST - but Mark is also an employee of the Founder Institute HQ team in Palo Alto, where he is part of the Graduate Success team and helps operate the Funding Lab post-graduate support program.
iDEAQUEST works to mitigate mental health issues in entrepreneurs through an SMS-based program designed for hyper 'plugged-in' and stressed-out 'perennials,' who are looking for alternative ways to manage personal wellness. Users receive daily mindfulness texts that teach new concepts and track along with their progress as they grow each week.
iDEAQUEST Founder & CEO Mark Montalban wanted to team up with Ultimatum Inc specifically to highlight #Care4Us, an idea born out of changing the stigma around the importance of maintaining mental health:
As modern technology enables instantaneous communication and being “on-call” 24 hours a day, many find that this increase in technology consumption is requiring more proactive mental healthcare practices for everyone.
Why is mental health now important for everyone? Almost every aspect of our lives is permeated by digital technology. It can be challenging to take a break and pull yourself away from your phone or laptop to notice the world around you. This is why maintaining mental health is now moving toward mental fitness for everyone.
iDEAQUEST is leveraging the Ultimatum campaign platform to fundraise for a nonprofit called NAMI - the National Aliance on Mental Illness. NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization, dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
The Ultimatum crowdfunding platform empowers individuals and organizations to influence the causes they care about and create positive social change by allowing campaign sponsors to amplify impact through matching donor financial support, as well as to create network incentives by pledging small donations when individuals share the #Care4Us campaign message or hashtag on social media.
During the month of May, Mental Health Month, join the #Care4Us campaign to help change the narrative around mental health and mindful living.
Ultimatum is a crowdfunding platform designed specifically to help individuals and organizations to create exactly this kind of targeted social impact. We at the Founder Institute are always excited to see collaborations happening within the FI global community, and are heartened to see iDEAQUEST channel their own expertise in mental wellness into a campaign that helps raise awareness and funding for a charitable organization like NAMI, whose social impact is so closely aligned with their own mission.
