In late 2019, the CEO of the Founder Institute and a few friends devised a card game, called Save the World. Three or more players compete, collaborate and everything in between to devise a solution to a global disaster.
The game instantly struck a chord with entrepreneurs.
To play, you are given a set amount of time to devise, fund and agree on a solution to a randomly selected disaster. Players assume a Role, such as Entrepreneur, and a Trait, such as Enthusiast. It can be quite fun to try and get a Conservative Banker to agree with an Enthusiastic General.
The humorous discussions are supplemented by gameplay that is designed with multiple twists and turns. If players can’t agree by the halfway point, then players can be exiled. A major twist in the disaster is also introduced at the midpoint of play, as well at the end.
Back the Kickstarter to Join a Play Test
Save the World was play tested at the Founder Institute global offsite at the end of 2019 with nearly 30 players in a single game. New elements of gameplay were tested dozens of times all around the world. Rules and scenarios were tweaked and refined. The game became more entertaining, more interesting and a lot more fun.
Then, the pandemic hit.
The real world needed saving. It became clear that the problems facing humanity in the real world were problems that players experienced in the game. It also became clear that Save the World, the game, could help humanity prepare to solve problems in the real world.
As humanity fumbled to finally address the pandemic, the end of 2020 seemed like the right time to release the game. We launched a website and a Kickstarter project for Save the World on December 3rd, 2020. Support the project below.

Our intention is to inspire more creative problem solving and collaboration to help everyone save the world. The game inspires entrepreneurial thinking. Proceeds from the project will be used to finalize a new card design, and any extra proceeds will be donated to good causes. Enjoy!
