Tim Hyer, Co-Founder and CEO of RentCycle, was the featured guest on last week's This Week in Startups, which is hosted by FI Mentor Jason Calacanis. Rentcycle is on online rental marketplace where consumers can search, compare and rent anything online, and where rental businesses can promote their products and store, take online reservations, and generate revenue around the clock. The company is a Graduate of the first ever Founder Institute program, which took place in Silicon Valley in 2009.

In this episode, Tim and Jason discuss the emerging economic trends of "access vs. ownership", and their positive experiences with the Founder Institute.

The company also recently announced a $1.4m funding round featuring a "who's who" list of prominent investors: Andreesen Horowitz, SV Angel, Founder Collective, Collaborative Fund, Amicus Capital, Max Levchin and Farhad Mohit.
