Seattle's Startup Ecosystem: A Launchpad for First-Time Founders

Seattle has long been one of the most dynamic startup hubs in North America. Home to global tech giants like Amazon and Microsoft, and a thriving cloud, AI, and SaaS community, the Emerald City has produced a deep bench of operators, engineers, and product leaders. That talent density, combined with strong venture capital activity, world-class research institutions, and a culture of building, has made Seattle a natural breeding ground for the next generation of startup founders.

But despite all that opportunity, many talented Seattle professionals find themselves stuck on the same question: "I have an idea, but I don't know where to start." That's exactly the gap the Seattle Startup Ideation Bootcamp is built to close.

Introducing the Seattle Startup Ideation Bootcamp

The Founder Institute's Seattle Startup Ideation Bootcamp is an intensive 2-week online program designed for tech professionals, career-shifters, and aspiring entrepreneurs who want to test and validate a startup idea using AI tools and feedback from top entrepreneurs and investors.

Whether you're navigating a layoff, exploring a career transition, or feeling that persistent itch to build something of your own, this bootcamp is engineered to help you move from idea to validated concept, fast.

At a glance, the program includes 4 live sessions, roughly 3 hours per week, and a certificate upon completion. Cohort  runs from June 23, 2026 to July 2, 2026, with live sessions held from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM EDT.

Who the Bootcamp Is For

This program is built for:

  • Tech professionals navigating layoffs, career transitions, or the urge to build something of their own

  • Anyone who has ever said, "I have an idea, but I don't know where to start"

  • Aspiring entrepreneurs ready to make the leap from employee to founder

  • Builders looking to team up with other aspiring entrepreneurs and potential co-founders

What You'll Achieve

By the end of the two weeks, participants will create and validate startup ideas with experts and real customers, leverage AI tools to move faster and smarter, de-risk the decision on whether to pursue their idea, and connect with potential co-founders and advisors.

Bootcamp Structure: Pitch, Validate, Iterate

The bootcamp is built around three core pillars:

Live Expert Sessions. Four online sessions over two weeks with experienced startup mentors who provide guidance and feedback on your idea and progress, walking you through an intensive, step-by-step process to brainstorm and validate startup concepts.

Learning Platform. AI tools, templates, and frameworks to help you move faster, paired with structured, action-oriented sprints featuring embedded videos and resources.

Mentorship & Community. This is where the program really shines for first-time founders. You'll pitch your idea to 10+ different mentors and collect feedback, advice, and multiple points of view. Networking and pitch events are baked into the schedule to help you meet potential co-founders, advisors, and collaborators.

The 2-Week Schedule

The cohort kicks off on Tuesday, June 23 with Kickoff & Ideation, where you'll network with other aspiring entrepreneurs, learn the bootcamp framework, set your validation plan, perform initial market research, define your problem statement and early adopter, and sharpen or expand your current idea.

This is followed by Customer Validation on June 25, and two dedicated Startup Idea Feedback sessions on June 30 and July 2—giving you multiple opportunities to pitch your refined idea and incorporate real-world input before deciding on your next move.

Learn From Experienced Seattle and Global Operators

The bootcamp is led by a strong roster of FI entrepreneurs and operators, including Nicole Doyle, who runs the Founder Institute Seattle chapter and brings 14 years of experience scaling teams at AWS, Meta Reality Labs, Uber, and earlier-stage startups; Jonathan Greechan, Co-Founder & CEO of the Founder Institute, who has personally mentored thousands of founders since 2009; Aniket Naravanekar, founder of Skillsheet and former product leader at CHEQ; and Chetana Desai, CEO of ZORO, leading the ZK Machine Learning Network for AI Robotics.
