Last month, we announced a one-sentence pitch competition to select a Los Angeles Founder Institute scholarship. The competition, judged by LA Mentors Jason Nazar and Jason Calacanis, and FI's Founder Adeo Ressi, asked entrepreneurs to concisely describe their ideas in one sentence using Adeo's Madlibs for Pitching Format.
We received over 30 submissions, and now we're ready to announce the winning pitch:
My company, Advanced Kymatics, is developing a road traffic data source to help mobile application developers and traffic data aggregators gain access to traffic conditions at a lower cost using radar measurements of road conditions from several small spacecraft.
- Robert Zimmerman
The Runner Ups included:
My company, 4leafmobi, is a mobile casino gaming platform that partners with Las Vegas Casinos to provide real money gaming anywhere on the resort property via your favorite mobile device, and yes, it is approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission.
- Dave Lee
My company, bluepesa, is developing a P2P payment service to help people without bank accounts or credit cards send and receive money on their mobile phones cheaper and faster than cash transfers with easy access to their funds at an ATM or a store via a prepaid debit card.
- Fahd Bangash
Congratulations to Robert and the Runner Ups, and if you could use help fixing your one-sentence pitch, check out the competition and the comments here.
