
The largest Startups accelerator in the world, presents the grads of the 1st Program of the Founder Institute in Luanda.
After 5 months of intense work, on July 31st, Founder Institute Luanda held the event of presentation and graduation of the first program of startups in Luanda, where it had the presence of all players of the local entrepreneurship ecosystem, technology companies, representatives of academic and government institutions.
Haymée Perez Cogle, local leader of Founder Institute Luanda explained that it had been a difficult 14 weeks for both graduates and the Founder Institute: "Our focus is to help entrepreneurs launch and consolidate sustainable, enduring and meaningful companies around the world, creating value for a stable and strong society.
The program provides the whole structure of global mentoring and networking, so that sustainable business opportunities arise. To achieve this, the Silicon Valley-based Founder Institute requires 80% local mentoring so that business implementation is adapted to each country's reality and 20% global mentors, who are mentors from different industries and parts of the world.
Among the Graduates were António Savita, founder of the digital platform for self-employed workers named Profrila, Aricledes Coelho, founder of the digital platform for academic content.
Ernesto and Erigenia Alberto, creators of Narulim, a startup dedicated to the production of biodegradable detergents; Emerson Lourenço, founder of the digital platform for the distribution of agricultural products and Francisco Silvestre, founder of the digital platform to facilitate payments.
Other graduates were Kimpovi, the first platform to provide legal services whose intention comes from Manuel Antonio, Handy on Road another platform for assistance and emergency on the roads of Founder Noé Cardoso, Zaiakana another digital platform that allows the user to know in real time the information of roads in Angola and finally the startup Unirme; a platform that will allow users in Angola to access online courses.
Silvio Almada, president of AAPSI (Angola Association of Internet Service Providers) congratulates the initiative, as well as the CEO of Angola Cables, Augusto Mota de Carvalho.
The ceremony ended with a speech by Samora Kitumba, Administrator and Member of the Board of INAPEM, a government institution that supports small businesses, which gives an incentive to young people not to give up their ideas and to be resilient.
More than 150 guests attended the event, including representatives of Founder Institute Luanda's Partner companies as well as local mentors. The event took place in one of the most visited places by young people in Luanda, at the Miami Beach Restaurant on Cape Island.
The Founder Institute was consolidated in Luanda in October 2018, with the purpose of positioning Angola on the map of entrepreneurship, the three Local Leaders are characterized by having an entrepreneurial DNA:
- Eloy Simões - PhD Philosophy, CEO Ambidextra Global.
- Haymée Perez Cogle - Master in Economics. Senior executive with extensive experience in sales and business development. She is committed to promoting the startups ecosystem in Angola.
- Silvio Almada - Master in Engineering. Pioneer of the Internet business in Angola. President of AAPSI - Angolan Association of Internet Service Providers.
The first Programme began in January 2019, with 24 subscriptions and ended with 10 candidates who will graduate this Wednesday,
