To support Brazilian entrepreneurs in launching their space solutions, the Founder Institute is offering Space Fellowships to the three startups from the SpacePitch 2023 competition.
In partnership with SpaceBR, Founder Institute provides three full fellowships to top spacepreneurs. Selected startup founders at SpacePitch 2023 will be offered to join FI's acceleration startup program free of charge.
Not all space solutions are intentionally built to be used in the expanding space economy. Entrepreneurs and founders focused on solving problems on Earth do not always know that their solutions may also be applicable in space.
Recent years were record-setting for startup space funding (in a number of space startup deals and average deal size). The space economy is currently valued at $424 billion. In 2021, $15.4 billion were invested in 241 space startups, 28% coming from the public capital market, as a significant source of funding across all space business areas.
While startup space remains well-supported by investors, future performance risks include unproven business models, uncertain customer bases, and typically lengthy time horizons for space businesses to mature.

In previous years, the Founder Institute has partnered up with different programs offering space fellowships for launching space businesses. After signing up your startup, the SpacePitch23 committee (with FI LATAM Director and Global FI Investor Relations Paloma Lecheta) will evaluate the proposals and select the most promising for the live pitches on May 11th at the SpaceBR Show in Sao Paulo in front of a panel of space investors and space experts.
