Recently, Founder Institute CEO Adeo Ressi took the stage to deliver a keynote address to an audience of entrepreneurs at STARTUp Day 2020. sTARTUp Day is the biggest business festival in the Baltics, bringing together 4000+ startup-minded people to celebrate entrepreneurship in the smart city of Tartu.

Topics of the keynote included:

1. People are awakening around the world in a new self-awareness – entrepreneurs can capitalize upon this global awakening to catalyze their impact momentum.
2. Leaders are finally starting to articulate clearer visions for creating a more beautiful future – their cooperation will be critical for entrepreneurs to sustain progress.
3. "Industries of Change" are emerging to actualize the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals by the 2030 timeframe target.
4. Our target is for  >80% of Founder Institute portfolio companies to be working on building businesses to affect positive social or environmental impact by 2030.

Impactful Ideas On Offer

If you're upset about something in the world, be the change that you want to see in the world - and start the small changes right now.

2020 is a pivotal year, where we need to bring the startup world into alignment to work on things that matter.

I believe that is where the change we need to see will come: it will come from entrepreneurs. Big companies and governments are looking for solutions. We need to make those solutions, and then they will adopt them, and the world will change.

You make reality with every decision you make. Be conscious with your thoughts and intentions in doing something positive.

Start a process of healing: I encourage you, work on the traumas that affect your life. Lead with your heart, and be conscious of the actions that you're doing and the impact that those actions have in the world.

If you find yourself interested in something, ask yourself why. Go through the recursive Why question... If you can't get to the point where you have a deep and meaningful answer when you've asked yourself 'why' a few separate times in sequence, then you should probably rethink what you're doing until you can go through that recursive why exercise and work on something that matters. And it doesn't necessarily need to matter to everyone - it needs to matter to you.
