The São Paulo based startup Play2sell, co-founded by Founder Institute SP 2017 graduates Felipe dos Santos and Lilian Natal, recently closed a seed investment round after only five months of existence. The round was led by the Latin America Angels Society (LAAS) and also involved angel investors from the Brazilian Real Estate Market Association (ABMI) and investment vehicles NB Capital & JUPTER AdVentures (investor in several Founder Institute graduate startups). "The industry is huge, but it is one of the most conservative in terms of technology. We are happy to participate in this change, "celebrates Felipe, CEO of the startup.

The solution presented by Play2sell is a kind of "Duolingo of the real estate market", a mobile application in which are used techniques of games - the gamification - and microlearning for the learning. "We realize that there is a very great pain in the market regarding the qualification of sales teams, especially in real estate and construction. But traditional trainings are boring, non-scalable, and non-engaging. We understood that this knowledge had to be passed in a fun and interactive way, "explains the CEO, Felipe dos Santos.

In the State of São Paulo alone there are about 180k real estate brokers, according to Creci-SP (Regional Council of Real Estate Brokers) and approximately 50 thousand brokers & developers, according to Secovi-SP (the national Housing Union).

Play2sell began its activities officially at the end of last year after its co-founders participated & graduated from the Founder Institute (FI) program in São Paulo, a Silicon Valley-based accelerator now with activities across 10 Brazilian cities & having already helped its graduates launch over 80 startups across Brazil since 2015. According to the FI Brazil Director and co-founder of Jupter AdVentures, Nima Kazerooni, this is one of the startups that came out the most prepared to capture investment almost immediately after graduation. "The FI startup launch program is very difficult and requires a lot from the entrepreneurs in an attempt to prepare them for the difficulties that the market presents and this is why most of the graduates tend to outperform their regional peers and sometimes even qualify to compete on a global scale," he says.

According to the CEO of Play2sell, the investment resources will be mainly applied to product development, customer acquisition and marketing. Felipe is confident that that this step will help the already tractioning startup grow even faster. "After capturing a significant part of the real estate industry, we will be positioned to move to other verticals. We have great potential to help qualify sales teams in diverse segments such as retail, automotive and direct sales," he says.
