The idea of “community” isn’t a new thing. But how it’s being done is rapidly changing. We’re still scratching the surface of what community-led growth really entails. Consumers are moving away from a product-first mentality where it takes the spotlight and is advertised as something to buy and use. Many companies however are still trying to build product-centric communities. Today, people are looking for more than just a product. Purchases are becoming more of a reflection, an extension of who we are. Companies that enable their members, to resonate and reflect back on what their communities value is the future of growth.
About the Keynote Speaker: Derek Andersen
For the past 15 years Derek has been building communities.  Startup Grind - what started in his garage with a few people talking about their startups, helping each other and hanging out, grew into a 600 Chapter, 125 country community connecting, educating and inspiring entrepreneurs.  He is the co-founder/CEO of Bevy, a SaaS product that helps companies like Salesforce, Atlassian, Google, Snowflake, and Adobe create more meaningful and impactful community-driven businesses. Leading by example, Bevy has committed to radically reducing the racial inequality that exists in the tech industry.  And closed their $40M Series C round with 40 new investors, of which, 30% are Women, 70% are Black and funded 20% of the round.
