We are excited to announce that we have teamed up with two of the world's most innovative AI companies, Philips and Bosch, to launch our first-ever “AI Founder Syndicate” program in Pittsburgh. News of the launch was recently announced in the Pittsburgh Business Times by Julia Mericle.

The AI Founder Syndicate aims to inspire and support entrepreneurs building artificial intelligence startups in the Pittsburgh Founder Institute by providing:

  • Feedback and Mentorship from Over 20 top artificial intelligence experts, including investors from Coal Hill Ventures / The Robotics Hub
  • The opportunity to work alongside top innovation leaders at Philips and Bosch
  • A Local and Global Support Network of Entrepreneurs, Investors, and Advisors
  • Over $2M in Partner Deals and Resources
  • Several "AI Syndicate Fellowships" Awarded to the Top Program Applicants, allowing them to participate in the program for free

If you are interested in building an artificial intelligence startup in Pittsburgh, apply to the AI Founder Syndicate today.

The AI Founder Syndicate will run alongside the standard Pittsburgh Winter 2019 Founder Institute cohort and will provide dedicated resources to the AI Founders in the program. While entrepreneurs with any ideas are still welcome to apply to the Founder Institute program, those with AI ideas will receive a specialized curriculum with additional mentorship, assistance and opportunities to work alongside Bosch and Philips.

Artificial Intelligence will play a key role in helping consumers to understand and engage in their healthcare options,” says William Gaussa, an Advanced Innovation Leader at Philips. “We believe that the Founders Institute AI syndicate will help us to identify early initiatives and may accelerate the deployment of AI for healthtech, adding clear value for both health care systems and the consumer.

To celebrate this new program, the Pittsburgh Founder Institute will host several free startup and AI events at Truefit over the next few months:

The Pittsburgh Founder Institute was launched in 2017 by two of the Pittsburgh startup ecosystem's most well-known leaders, Greg Coticchia (Chief Executive Officer/Founder, ENTRA) and Randy Eager (Founder and Managing Partner, Aqualibrium LLC). The first Pittsburgh program just recently concluded in July 2018 with seven companies, and one of AI companies from the cohort, Three10 Solutions, recently raised a successful seed-round of funding.

It's common now to hear news that one of the world's leading investors, or one of the world's leading technology companies, is investing or opening an office in Pittsburgh. This did not use to be the case,” says Adeo Ressi, CEO of the Founder Institute, and former student at Carnegie Mellon. "I spent some time at Carnegie Mellon and I know the talent is there, so I am not surprised. But it seems the rest of the world is now starting to fully understand and appreciate the city's expertise in artificial intelligence and robotics.

Royal Philips of the Netherlands is a leading health technology company focused on improving people’s health and enabling better outcomes across the health continuum from healthy living and prevention, to diagnosis, treatment and home care.

The Bosch Group is a leading global supplier of technology and services. As a leading IoT company, Bosch offers innovative solutions for smart homes, smart cities, connected mobility, and connected industry.
