Appota, a graduate of the Hanoi Founder Institute, was recently named Vietnam’s most promising startup at the HCMC Tech Startup Conference held on January 26th, in Ho Chi Minh City. The HCMC Tech Startup Conference is Vietnam’s first early-stage startup competition and attracted more than 200 local tech leaders.
Appota is a platform that serves mobile developers, content providers, advertisers and smartphone users in Vietnam. After having already been recognized as one of Vietnam’s most disruptive startups, Appota made it through several rounds of elimination and was one of four remaining startups chosen to pitch on stage.
In addition to hearing Appota’s winning pitch, guests enjoyed a discussion about technology tends in Vietnam for 2013 from local leaders; Pham Hop Pho (Senior Associate, IDG Ventures Vietnam), Phan Sao Nam (Chairman, VTC Online), Nguyen Manh Dung (Chief Representative, Cyber Agent Ventures), Pham Minh Tuan (Chairman, TOPICA Education Group) and Le Tran Bao Duy (General Partner, Vietnam Prosperous Investment Corporation).
