The Founder Institute recently launched an Exploratory Program in Greenville, South Carolina which was reported in a GSA Business article titled “Founder Institute offers low-cost program for startups”.
The program is seeking people who have ideas for business ventures but aren’t ready to quit their day jobs. Jason Premo, co-director of the The Founder Institute program in Greenville, states its the first in South Carolina and will be tailored to the community’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The 14-week program starting this summer will be a feeder for existing incubators and accelerators.
Premo, who is chairman of Premo Ventures and an angel investor, said the institute program is not profit driven, and relies on mentors who have successfully started businesses. Premo said that as a co-director his role is to supplement that curriculum with diverse local mentors.
The institute’s program guides new entrepreneurs through these trenches, while bringing the program to South Carolina provides a direct mechanism to spur additional growth in our knowledge economy.”
