Bruce Bigelow of Xconomy just wrote a great article on the Founder Institute launch in San Diego and Orange County, announcing Cooley Godward Kronish as the title sponsor. Sessions start on Tuesday, November 3rd, and application are due shortly.
Any founder or group of cofounders interested in applying need to submit an application by no later than Sunday, October 25, 2009. The semester is already half full, and applications are processed in the order that they are received. Apply here.
Founders that received early acceptance need to submit their acceptance paperwork today, Friday, October 23, to reserve a spot in the program.

Jordan Greenhall is co-founder (former CEO, and chairman of the Board) of DivX Inc., the San Diego company behind the digital data compression application DivX that enabled reasonable quality video transmission over the Internet. Additionally, Mr. Greenhall has significant, senior, practical experience with developing and implementing Internet business models. He has served as a Strategic Consultant with INTERVU, a premiere streaming media services provider; and Vice President at MP3.com, where he was responsible for developing and implementing the company's business and content development model for its music website. Mr. Greenhall graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1997, and summa cum laude from Texas A&M with a BA in 1994. - Chester Ng, Co-Founder, Chief Business Officer, OpenCandy
Chester Ng is a Co-Founder of OpenCandy, the distribution and monetization platform exclusively for consumer software providers. As the Chief Business Officer, Chester runs the business development and sales team focused on partnerships that increase distribution or revenues for software creators. Prior to OpenCandy, Chester spent 7 years at DivX, most recently as Director of Business Development, responsible for building new business lines like software licensing/ distribution and online advertising, as well as expanding DivX into new markets like social media and internationally. Chester graduated from University of California, San Diego with a BS, in Management Science. - Neil Senturia, CEO, SDNN, Blackbird Ventures & Quanlight
Neil Senturia is the CEO of U.S. Local News Network which is developing a network of local news and information websites. The first two sites are San Diego News Network (SDNN.com) and Southwest Riverside News Network (SWRNN.com). He has more than 25 years of diverse entrepreneurial endeavors in technology and real estate development. Most notably, he was the co-founder and CEO of ATCOM/INFO, which pioneered high-speed internet access in hotel rooms and was sold for $80 million in 1999. Neil has also taught entrepreneurship in the MBA program at San Diego State University, and served on the board of their Entrepreneurial Management Center. He has a Master's Degree in film from New York University and a BA in English from Tufts University. - Dmitry Shapiro, Founder & CEO, Veoh Networks, Inc.
Dmitry Shapiro is the Founder and CEO of Veoh Networks, one of the largest online video services, with over 28 million monthly viewers. Prior to Veoh, Dmitry founded Akonix Systems, a venture-backed company that helps corporations secure and manage Instant Messaging and P2P networks. Dmitry’s companies have raised over $100 million in capital from backers that include Time Warner, Intel, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, and Michael Eisner (former head of Disney). He is also an investor and Chairman of iList/ Spymaster. Dmitry has a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech.
