Earlier this year we announced a large partnership with Microsoft BizSpark to give our startups software, support, and visibility to help them succeed. Since then, hundreds of Founder Institute Graduates across the globe have benefited from BizSpark, and many of our companies have received up to $60,000 in free cloud services, exposure, and more through the BizSpark Plus Program. In addition, Microsoft has opened doors for the Founder Institute internationally, helping us expand to 10 new countries in just the past couple of months.
Well, today we are excited to annouce an even deeper relationship that will give more Founder Institute companies support from Microsoft.
First, we will be adding many domestic cities to the partnership roster, including Silicon Valley, Washington D.C., Chicago, Seattle, and Los Angeles. Second, Microsoft will be offering a number of "Windows 8 Fellow" scholarships, allowing some of our most talented applicants to enroll in the Founder Institute free of charge (stay tuned for details!). Finally, Graduates across these cities will have access to Microsoft resources, special training sessions, and a direct contact for companies that want to build on the Windows platform.
"We've been a BizSpark and Azure company since inception, and I can't tell you how awesome it's been for us. It's a hidden gem, to be honest" - Al Bsharah, Co-Founder and CEO of Embarke, and Graduate of the San Diego Founder Institute.
