The Lean Startup movement has arguably changed the global startup landscape over the last few years, providing a simple methodology for resource and time-constrained companies to quickly learn from their customers and create products that people want.

At the forefront of this movement is Founder Institute Mentor Eric Ries.

Eric Ries is the creator and author of The Lean Startup. In addition, Eric recently launched his newest book "The Leader's Guide" on Kickstarter, and it will only available to backers of the campaign (the book won't be released in stores). Check it out here.. it's very interesting.  

In the below talk from the Silicon Valley Founder Institute, Eric outlines the basics of the lean startup methodology for aspiring founders. He explains how to validate learning about your customers, the continuous deployment cycle, and how to increase a startup's runway through pivoting.
