Most investors have a general checklist of things they look for when evaluating a pitch. However, as Rebecca Lovell explains in the video below, it is important to tell a story and connect with your audience, because “the ultimate decision to invest is part emotional.”

Rebecca Lovell is the Chief Business Officer at GeekWire. She also ran the Alliance of Angels in Seattle, is a Board Director of NWEN, and is a community advisor for Startup Weekend.

In this talk from last year’s Seattle Founder Institute, Rebecca discusses philosophies and approaches to investor pitches. She explains ways to create emotional connections with the audience, the importance of telling a story, and breaks down the elements of a successful investor pitch.

Applications to the Seattle Founder Institute's Spring 2012 Semester are due February 26th. Click here to apply
