As part of the Founder Institute’s series of free online startup events for entrepreneurs practicing social distancing, we were pleased to welcome Gopi Mattel of Lifeboat Ventures on Thursday, November 19th for a live, interactive webinar event on the topic of Innovations to Mitigate Disaster Impact.
Natural disasters are becoming an expected norm, from continual record-setting hurricanes in the Gulf Coast to rampant wildfire seasons in the American West. Existential risks like those posed by financial crises and global pandemics have also triggered other disaster events now familiar to nearly everyone alive today.
Driven by vision to mitigate negative effects and prevent the worst outcomes of predictable disaster scenarios, some entrepreneurs are pushing the edge to avert future disasters from happening. Lifeboat Ventures proposes to use a venture studio model to fund entrepreneurs whose ideas will help humanity adapt to the 'new normals' of 21st century life. Watch to learn how impact entrepreneurs can apply innovation towards mitigating impact from the next disaster.
