In this talk from the the Los Angeles Founder Institute, Stephen Meade emphasizes the importance of effective leadership. He says a founder’s goal is to convince others to come on the journey with them, and to ultimately see adopt the vision as their own.
Stephen Meade is a serial entrepreneur who currently acts as chairman for Big Bamboo LLC, a holding company that incubates start-up companies from innovative idea to market-ready. In addition to his position at Big Bamboo, Stephen serves as a mentor for the Los Angeles Founder Institute, which is currently accepting applications for the Spring Semester.
Along with persistence and a clear vision of what you want to accomplish, Stephen says starting a company like climbing a mountain. Having a vision of your end goal (the peak of the mountain), you will have a much greater chance of success. Without your goal in sight, you are far more likely to give up.
