In this talk from the Berlin Founder Institute, Heiko Rauch shares the research process behind zanox, and how careful planning and a global mindset led his company to become Europe’s leading affiliate marketing network.

Heiko attributes much of zanox’s success to implementing a global strategy early on. He says that at zanox they designed their technology to support multiple languages and currencies in order to be ahead of their ecommerce competition and be global from day one. According to Heiko, entrepreneurs should strive to make their company scalable above all else, with the ultimate goal to "go global or die." In order to be successful, he emphasizes a "lead don't follow" mentality regarding competitors, focusing on the visibility and transparency of the company rather than on the competition itself.
