Appota, a mobile content distribution platform, is now considered to be one of the leaders and main competitors in the mobile app space in Vietnam, as reported by Anh-Minh Do on Tech in Asia, in an article titled Will Appota and VNG go head-to-head in 2014?
A Graduate of the Hanoi Founder Institute, Appota had its beginnings in brick-and-mortar mobile stores, but now has a distribution network that includes channels such as Facebook and Appstore.vn, as well as handset makers, Huawei and Oppo. As a result of their expansion, Appota has become a major player in the Vietnamese mobile content space, rivaling VNG, one of the largest and most successful internet companies in Vietnam.
Refusing to settle on past achievements, Appota and its 100 employees are also currently beta testing a new social gaming network, onClan, to further establish their foothold. They are targeting the rapidly growing Vietnamese gaming population, who are moving away from the web and onto mobile.
