At the Founder Institute, we hear hundreds of pitches. Most enrolled Founders consider multiple ideas and work on their various pitches during the program. It takes every Founders a long time to get their pitch right.
At a recent Founder Showcase event, a few separate venture capitalists approached me and mentioned that they wanted to hear more concise pitches from everyone that approaches them. I believe that you can get all of the key elements of your pitch into one sentence, and this opening line should be used in every sitation where you pitch your business, whether in the proverbial elevator or in an investor presentation.
To help you construct the opening line, we developed a Madlibs format for you to use. Special thanks to TechCrunch for posting about it.
