At the Founder Institute, we are dedicated to supporting the veteran community because U.S. veterans, active service members, and military spouses are uniquely equipped with the fortitude, leadership, and tenacity required to build successful companies.
To celebrate Veteran’s Day 2017, the Founder Institute will be hosting a Veteran’s Online Demo Day on December 5th to showcase up-and-coming Vet-led companies to a live audience of hundreds of entrepreneurs, advisors, and investors. U.S. Veterans, active service members, and military spouses are building some of the country's fastest growing companies, and anyone can register for this live online event at http://fi.co/demo.
In addition, we are issuing an open call for applications on this Online Demo Day. If you are a U.S. Veteran, active service member, or a military spouse that is building a tech or tech-enabled company, apply to pitch on the Demo Day by midnight PST on Veteran’s Day, November 11th. The selected companies will be notified the week of November 13th, and will receive coaching from Founder Institute experts to prepare their pitch for the event.
This event and competition is being run in partnership with two organizations committed to increasing entrepreneurship in the Vet community: Vet-Tech, an accelerator focused on finding,
developing and funding veteran-led startup companies; and The Paradigm Switch, a non-profit focused on developing innovative pathways and financial support to prestigious skills based programs.
The Founder Institute’s commitment to the veteran community extends far beyond the Veteran Demo Day. Through our partnership with Vet-Tech, we have issued Vet-Tech Veteran Fellowships in over 20 U.S. Cities to provide veterans an opportunity to participate in the Founder Institute program for free. In addition, we have recently partnered with The Paradigm Switch and are working on expanding our initiatives to military spouses in 2018 to collaborate with more military entrepreneur organizations.
