Founder Institute Officially Launches Third Croatian Chapter, in Split

The Founder Institute, the world's largest startup accelerator, is proud to announce that it is launching a new chapter in Split, Croatia. The first ever semester in Split begins this Spring and is currently accepting applications.

With existing chapters in Zagreb and Rijeka, the Silicon Valley-based Founder Institute now operates in as many locations in Croatia (three) as it does in any country outside the United States.

After the upcoming Zagreb Founder Institute Graduation on March 20th, the Founder Institute will have helped launch 22 new technology companies in Croatia since first launching in Zagreb in late 2012. These graduates include some of the country’s most promising new companies, including Festomat, Orioly, Marine Tech Factory, and many more.

In the Founder Institute's four-month, part-time program, promising startup entrepreneurs “learn by doing” and launch a company through structured training courses, practical business-building assignments, and expert feedback from a large network of business mentors. Plus, aspiring founders are not required to quit their day job to participate, so they can begin building a business around their ideas without putting their livelihood at risk.

Leading the Founder Institute’s efforts in Split are Marjeta Tomulić Vehovec, a mentor and participant in the organization of the Startup Weekend in Croatia, who also has a doctorate in EU law and currently teaches International and EU tax law; and Toni Trivkovic, founder and director of two companies (Slicejack and Agilo) and organizer of OpenCoffee Split, a meetup that connects local IT professionals.
