The Founder Institute, the world's largest startup accelerator, is proud to announce that it is launching a new chapter in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The first ever semester in Saint Petersburg begins this Spring and is currently accepting applications.
With an existing chapter in Moscow, the Founder Institute hopes to launch more than 30 meaningful and enduring technology companies per year in Russia.
Saint Petersburg is one of the most technically proficient cities in not only Russia, but on the entire planet. There is definitely a very quickly growing startup ecosystem in the city, and across the Baltic region as a whole.
However, Saint Petersburg will not realize its potential as a startup hub until there is a clear and structured path to entrepreneurship for the massive professional workforce in the city. The Founder Institute hopes to provide this, and inspire the technical talent in the city to begin building their own companies.” - Adeo Ressi, Founder & CEO of the Founder Institute
In response to an overwhelmingly positive reception during their trial period in Saint Petersburg last February, the Founder Institute has decided to officially launch in the city, celebrating with a “Pre-Curriculum” of free events for the general public.
The first semester of the Moscow Founder Institute graduated 10 new Russian technology companies, and the second program, which is currently operating and will end in May, has over 15 technology founders enrolled.
Leading the Founder Institute's efforts in Saint Petersburg are Andrei Komarovski, serial entrepreneur and Co-Founder of coffeelab.vc; and Jane Smorodnikova, CEO at LikeHack.com.
