After much talk this Summer about expansion in Europe, the Founder Institute has more than doubled its presence across the continent with the launch of five new chapters. The Institute was recently featured on The Next Web to share news of the expansion as well as plans for future growth. Joining the existing Paris, Brussels, Berlin, and Amsterdam chapters will be programs in Zagreb, Helsinki, Istanbul, Rome, and Kyiv, all of which are accepting applications for the upcoming Autumn semester.
So how can the Founder Institute benefit your city? Apart from further establishing the local technology scene, the Institute has graduated nearly 120 technology startups in Western Europe alone and aims to boost that number to more than 250 European companies by 2013. This means generating as many as 1,000 new jobs per year, creating economic value, and putting new regions on the map as up-and-coming technology hot-spots.
Notable European Founder Institute graduates include 2Houses (Brussels), CleverScale (Paris), Itembase (Berlin), and Peerby (Amsterdam).
With an aim to globalize Silicon Valley, the Founder Institute has helped launch over 650 companies worldwide and has no plan on stopping. In addition to our new chapters in Europe we will also be testing programs in Barcelona, Lisbon, London, Zurich, and Warsaw, so keep an eye out in the next couple of months for news, dates, and info on how you can get involved.
