After a great 2011 that saw over 1,000% growth in both traffic and retailers using their platform, Retailigence, a hyperlocal marketing platform that drives qualified foot traffic into retail stores by matching them with consumer demand, continues to expand at a torrid pace.
In the past week alone, Retailigence has announced major partnerships with two of the largest shopping app providers in mobile: ShopSavvy, and Catalogue by TheFind. In addition, the company was named in TheStreet's "5 Startups Big Tech is Eyeing in 2012", and in Website Magazine's "13 Super-Startups to Watch". This comes just one month after Retailigence announced a $2.6 million funding round, in which Motorola Solutions joined an already impressive roster of investors including Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Quest Venture Partners, 500 Startups, and more.
In total, Retailigence now has more than 10 million active products that can be found at nearly 100,000 retail locations across the United States and Canada. The company and its Founder, Jeremy Geiger, are Graduates of the Silicon Valley Founder Institute.
Location-enabled phones are making it easier than ever for shoppers to satisfy their impulses in a nearby store. According to a recent Pew Study, “over half of adult cell phone owners used their phone to assist them with purchasing decisions during the 2011 holiday season.“ Retailigence is helping to drive this movement by providing mobile apps and websites the specific, real-time information they need about a retailer’s products, availability, price, and location. In the end, consumers are able to find the products they need locally at the price they want, and both the store and app are generating business.
We look forward to seeing what other great news Retailigence has in store for the rest of 2012.
