GoFar emerged victorious at Sydstart’s highly competitive startup pitching final earlier this week. News of GoFar’s success was recently covered by Alex Heber in a Business Insider article titled “Go Far, A Driving Optimisation App, Took Out Sydstart's Startup Pitching Battle".

GoFar and its Founder Danny Adams are Graduates of the Sydney Founder Institute.

Based on a formula one performance meter, the GoFar device is placed on the dashboard, instantly informing the driver if he or she does any of the following things: corners badly, swerves, over-brakes, overspeeds and/or over-accelerates, and more. The purpose of this device is to motivate drivers to safely cut car costs.

According to Adams:

Every time you fill your car you don’t know how much trips will cost. Now you can break that down into driver actions. First there’s the instant feedback via the eco display, then you can look at the app data where you can see how the costs are adding up on the braking channel of the app or what underinflated tires are actually costing you in terms of extra friction.”

Considering the altruistic intentions of GoFar, it is no wonder that the company created such a splash at Sydstart, the largest professional tech startup conference, expo and community in Australia, which is dedicated to connecting, educating, and inspiring the local startup ecosystem.

In addition to winning the startup pitching final competition, GoFar also won the People’s Choice award, consisting of a $3,000 voucher for R&D, along with several other prizes.
