Last week, two graduates of the Chicago Founder Institute nearly swept the prize pool and took home first and second place at SeedCon, a University of Chicago Entrepreneurship event. IntelligentLoop secured first place, and DigitalGoundUp, Inc. landed in second.

Both Startups participated in the SeedCon Fast Pitch Competition, in which they introduced their business in a short video. After a few weeks of voting, 6 startups were selected to pitch to a judging panel comprised of top Venture Capitalists and Entrepreneurs. From what was once a pool of over 80 entries, our Founder Institute grads dominated the competition, securing a spot in the top 6 with ease. Antonio Ramson of IntelligentLoop took home a cool 25k, while Reva Minkoff of DigitalGroundUp earned a variety of prizes and cash, as well as notoriety within the Chicago Startup Scene.

This year SeedCon attracted over 300 investors, startup founders, and students, including Mark Suster, and Sam Yagan. To learn more about the event, read the full article on the Built in Chicago Blog here.

IntelligentLoop and DigitalGroundUp are both graduates of the Chicago Founder Institute which is currently accepting applications for the 2013 Spring Semester. Those who apply by January 13th, 2013 will have their application fee waived and are elligible for the Female Founder Fellowship program.
