Chris Motley, CEO of Better Weekdays, understands the potential of investing in people who deliver great returns. He was recently featured in a St. Louis Post-Dispatch article titled “Better Weekdays founder makes key connections in St. Louis” by David Nicklaus.
Better Weekdays is a Chicago Founder Institute Graduate. The company provides a cloud-based career management software platform that enables for-profit colleges to improve job placement outcomes among its graduates and maintain federal compliance.
Better Weekdays began to attract the attention of several technology accelerator programs after its first initial launch in 2011. The company eventually chose Capital Innovators in St. Louis, which invested $50,000 in February 2014. Motley is trying to build a business around helping other people make connections.
Our company is all about giving people access to opportunity.”
The company was recently included in President Barack Obama’s TechHire initiative, a 21-city effort to help more young people break into the technology industry. Better Weekdays will offer its platform for free in the participating cities.
In the next few weeks, Motley expects to raise enough money to expand his four-person team. He’ll then launch the product in June at a convention of for-profit colleges, many of which he hopes will become paying customers.
