We welcomed angel investor and blogger Jason Calacanis as a guest speaker for one of our previous webinars, “How to Master Startup Brand Storytelling”, in which he advised founders to design various brand stories depending on their target audience.

When telling your story to investors, Calacanis recommends that you should strive to prove that you’re the “real deal”. Since investors regularly meet with hundreds of entrepreneurs, they’re constantly placing founders in two categories: the Real Deal or a Poser.

When I look at a prototype, I look in a very detailed manner to see if it is good or not… As angel investors, we’re trying to figure out, are you really the real deal.
