The Founder Institute was proud to welcome top venture capitalist Steve Jurvetson to give a talk at our 2017 FounderX event.
For those not familiar with Jurvetson, he was named to Forbes' "Midas List" of Tech's Top Investors in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2016, and named "Venture Capitalist of the Year" in 2012 by Deloitte. Jurvetson is currently a partner of Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ), and sits on the board of such companies as D-Wave, Flux, Mythic, Planet, SpaceX, Synthetic Genomics, and Tesla Motors.
Clearly, to say that Jurvetson is an expert on the technology of tomorrow is a bit of an understatement. In this exclusive talk, he discussed the future of mission-driven companies, and why everyone wins when investors focus on startups that are on “the right side of history”.
When you invest in a passion-driven business, a mission-driven business, the employees love it, the partners love it, the customers love it and evangelize your product and service. Everything about it pays dividends in ways you can’t quantify at the front-end.
