One of the main important requirements for start-ups to grow is to gain sufficient funding to realize their business plans.
The funding of start-ups is usually driven by several financing rounds and is aligned to meet the specific expectations of investors and start-ups. Preferences in liquidity, conversion privileges and the distribution waterfall are core topics within exit strategies.
In exchange for capital, it is of high importance that managers and founders set a reasonable amount of prospective enterprise/shareholder value and voting rights assigned to investors.
