Set up your AI toolkit, meet your cohort of founders, and prepare to build an AI-forward business. Configure accounts on Replit and Claude, craft your first One-Sentence Pitch, and identify the AI capability shift that creates the timing window for your startup.   • Fully configure your AI stack including Replit, Claude, a transcription tool, and a design tool, and identify gaps in your current AI tool usage across professional work.
  • Articulate the specific AI advancement that makes your business possible right now and why the timing window matters.
  • Deliver a clear one-minute Hotseat Pitch and a compelling Why Statement to your cohort and Local Leaders.

Week 1: Vision Sprint

Identify and validate customer problems worth solving with AI. Brainstorm at least three AI-native customer problems, interview potential customers, and use AI research tools to stress-test market demand, willingness to pay, and competitive density. Online session + Working Groups and Office Hours.
  • Identify at least three customer problems that are uniquely solvable or dramatically improved by AI, with a one-sentence pitch for each.
  • Validate market demand and competitive density using both AI tools and direct customer conversations with at least 5 individuals.
  • Refine your Hotseat Pitch based on what you have learned and get peer feedback from your Working Group.

Week 2: Model Sprint

Select your One Customer Problem and develop a revenue model that can scale. Test pricing with real customers, build a landing page in Replit to validate your messaging, and map which business functions require humans versus AI agents. Online session + Working Groups and Office Hours.
  • Select your One Customer Problem based on the strongest business potential and eliminate weaker alternatives with clear reasoning.
  • Validate pricing by interviewing at least 5 potential customers about their willingness to pay and preferred revenue model.
  • Map every business function to either a human or an AI agent, with cost estimates, to plan your lean team structure.

Week 3: Validation Sprint

Your product starts to take shape. Validate your business by building a working tool in Replit that solves your customer's problem, while deepening your research through comprehensive customer interviews. Conduct at least 10 interviews, vibe-code a functional tool, and put it in the hands of real customers. Online session + Working Groups and Office Hours.
  • Build a functional tool using vibe coding in Replit that real customers can use immediately and iterate on weekly.
  • Validate your Key Assumptions through at least 10 customer interviews and develop a refined Buyer Persona from the data.
  • Assess the defensibility of your AI approach and identify specific advantages in proprietary data, workflows, or network effects.

The Mentor Idea Review is next session, so everything comes together here. Build a compelling three-minute pitch with a deck, use AI tools like Yoodli and Claude to evaluate your delivery and slide quality, and practice with peers acting as skeptical investors.   • Develop and practice a polished three-minute pitch that integrates your research, revenue model, and vibe-coded tool into a compelling narrative.
  • Use AI evaluation tools (Yoodli for delivery, Claude for slide scoring) to identify and fix weaknesses in both delivery and deck design before the Mentor Idea Review.
  • Prepare for tough mentor questions and build emotional resilience strategies for the pressures of company building.

Week 5: Idea Review Sprint 

This is the Mentor Idea Review, the first critical milestone of the program. Present your business in a three-minute pitch with a deck and a live demo in front of a panel of Mentors. You will be rated on the viability of your idea, the skill of your presentation, and the thoroughness of your research. Online session + Working Groups and Office Hours.
  • Deliver a compelling three-minute pitch and live agent demo that earns an average score of 2.0 or above from the Mentor panel.
  • Critically evaluate mentor feedback and make a clear pivot-or-persist decision backed by evidence.
  • Produce a polished, multi-AI-validated Executive Summary ready for investor conversations.

Week 6: Formation Sprint

Incorporate your company and set up the legal foundation for your business. File formation agreements, complete the FI Warrant, begin building an Advisory Board across Technical AI, Go-to-Market, and Domain Expert categories, and address compliance considerations for deploying AI agents.   • Incorporate your company and complete all FI Warrant documentation within this Sprint.
  • Begin building a strategic Advisory Board with candidates across Technical AI, Go-to-Market, and Domain Expert categories, and make warm outreach through identified connectors.
  • Establish your capitalization table, protect your intellectual property, and identify any AI-specific regulatory considerations.

Week 7: Launch Sprint

Launch your go-to-market engine and get your platform into the hands of paying customers. Extend your vibe-coded tool into a complete platform with onboarding and payment integration, build an AI-automated outreach pipeline, and set your Victory Conditions for the remainder of the program.   • Ship a complete platform that customers can use independently and begin collecting payments or letters of intent.
  • Build and activate an AI-automated outreach and sales pipeline reaching at least 25 potential customers with tracked engagement.
  • Define clear Victory Conditions and a Parade Plan that factors in the exponential growth of AI capabilities over the next six months.

Everything in this Sprint is measured against one target: 10% weekly growth. Establish baseline metrics, execute on your highest-leverage growth activities, and build a live dashboard that tracks both business KPIs and AI-specific metrics like agent accuracy, latency, and inference cost.   • Achieve 10% weekly growth on your primary traction metric through focused execution on high-leverage activities.
  • Build a live metrics dashboard that tracks both business performance and AI agent performance in real time.
  • Make a data-driven decision on your first human hire based on where AI agents are underperforming or insufficient.

Prepare for fundraising and Demo Day. Evaluate your funding options including Launch Financing from the Founder Institute, build a pipeline of at least 30 regional angels and 10 micro VCs, and extend your pitch to five minutes with a live product demo.

Week 11: Wrap-Up Session

Review progress and set your next goals for growth post-program. Onboard onto FI's post-program resources and benefits.
  • Evaluate every deployed AI agent in your business and categorize each as performing well, underperforming, or needing human replacement.
  • Identify your most important human hire with a defined role title, required skills, compensation range, and at least three known candidates from your network.
  • Establish a weekly accountability system for growth targets, naming the person you will check in with and the schedule.

Where do sessions take place?

Virtual components take place over Zoom. In-person components will be at various venues in Palo Alto and Redwood City, California.

Are flights or accommodations included?

No. Participants are responsible for all travel. We are negotiating discounted rates with co-working and co-living spaces and will share details with enrolled participants.

Who should apply?

Working professionals with domain expertise who want to build an AI-powered startup. We look for commitment, industry knowledge, and readiness to execute. No technical background required.

What is the application process?

Complete the form on this page. We will reach out if we believe you are a good fit. Limited spots. We want to ensure we work with companies that have the potential to launch unicorns.

What is the time commitment?

Phase 1: seven weekly online sessions (2-3 hours each) plus approximately 20 hours of weekly sprints. Phase 2: travel to Silicon Valley for over two weeks in August.

What does the 2.5% equity warrant mean?

Upon graduating and incorporating, you grant a 2.5% equity warrant to FI. This aligns incentives. The warrant is only exercisable if you reach certain milestones. Learn more at FI.co/equity.

Can I participate from outside the US?

Yes. Phase 1 is fully remote. Phase 2 requires presence in Silicon Valley. Many international founders have participated and used in-person sessions to establish their US presence.

What happens after Demo Day?

Graduates join 9,000+ founders across 200+ cities. Continued access to mentors, investor introductions, and co-founder matching through the alumni network.

Do I need a company already formed?

No. The program includes a Formation Sprint where you incorporate and establish legal structure. Many participants enter with just an idea and leave with an incorporated, launched company.

How is this different from other accelerators?

FI is a pre-seed program focused on building from scratch, not scaling existing products. Structured curriculum, real accountability, mentor-driven feedback, and a global alumni network.
