Specialists are winning, and LPs across the market are taking notice. In this VC session, we'll cut through the noise and unpack what professional investors, serial LPs, family offices, fund of funds, endowments, foundations, and other experienced allocators look for when backing first-time managers with a focused thesis.
From track record framing to thesis alignment, you’ll learn how specialist managers are standing out in a crowded market and earning commitments that generalists often can’t. With Cohort 22 making it easier than ever to launch a fund, this is your blueprint for attracting the kind of capital that can help build an enduring firm. RSVP now to secure your spot.

Meet the speakers:
Joe Schorge - Founder & Managing Partner, Isomer Capital
Joe founded Isomer Capital, one of Europe's largest venture fund-of-funds, after 25+ years as an LP, GP, and tech operator (Pomona Capital, Cambridge Associates). Isomer has backed roughly 100 VC funds and 2,000+ portfolio companies. Few people can speak as directly to what a serial institutional LP actually looks for when committing to a manager.
Dimitri Akhrin - Founder, President & CEO, BAMS
Dimitri Akhrin invests with the perspective of someone who has built, scaled and exited a real business. He previously founded, bootstrapped and sold a B2B SaaS company in the payment processing industry to private equity in 2021. Today, Dimitri serves as founder and president of BAMS, a Brooklyn-based payment processing company that serves thousands of merchants nationwide. Across two decades in financial infrastructure, Dimitri has navigated the full range of challenges that operators face, from pricing transparency to cash flow timing to chargeback exposure. That experience shapes how Dimitri evaluates fund managers and the companies they back.
Pankaj Kedia - Founder & Managing Partner, 2468 Ventures
Pankaj is a prolific AI and deep-tech investor who, through 2468 Ventures, has backed 160+ startups and 20+ VC funds as an active LP — a portfolio that includes early bets on names like Anthropic, OpenAI, and CoreWeave. A former Intel and Qualcomm intrapreneur with degrees from Stanford, Wharton, Michigan, and IIT, he offers a clear view of how LPs evaluate and select funds.
