Venture capital is still not an equal playing field for men and women. Yet in every VC Lab cohort, we see female managers outperforming their peers and raising some of the largest, most oversubscribed funds in the program. How are they beating the odds? Come find out.
We've gathered some of the best talent in the industry to share the real tactics they've used to get to a first close and carry that momentum through to a final close, no matter your gender. With Cohort 22 making it easier than ever to launch a fund, there has never been a better time to learn directly from the women who are already doing it. If you are even thinking about a career in venture capital, you don't want to miss this session.

Meet the speakers:
Jessica Kamada - Founder & General Partner,
Swizzle Ventures
A former competitive figure skater and decade-long growth operator (Uber, DoorDash, Peloton, Headspace), Jessica closed Swizzle's $6.6M inaugural fund — more than double her initial target — in a tough environment for emerging managers. Swizzle backs early-stage companies advancing women's health and wealth, and she's candid about turning a "non-traditional" background into a fundraising edge.
Karen Sheffield - Founder & Managing Partner, Pachamama Ventures
Karen spent 16 years as a finance executive at Fortune 100 companies (Visa, PepsiCo, American Airlines) before becoming an angel investor and then launching Pachamama, which invests in U.S. early-stage climate tech. A VC Lab graduate herself, she brings a sharp financial lens and a first-hand emerging-manager fundraising story. She holds a double degree from TCU and an MBA from UT Austin.
Arzu Tekir - General Partner, Treeo VC
Arzu leads Treeo VC, an early-stage firm backing AI-native B2B startups and helping international founders scale into the U.S. market. A Forbes contributor and longtime advocate for women in entrepreneurship and investment, she previously founded Urbanite Venture and led WRI Turkey Sustainable Cities, where she secured over $30M in funding.
