Mandy Cummings reported on Kindara’s recent successes in her CrowdfundingPR article “Kindara Secures $1.25M in Funding and $50K Pre-Sales, No Kickstarter Needed”.

Kindara and its Founders William Sacks and Katherine Bicknell are Graduates of the New York Founder Institute.

Kindara was conceived by the husband and wife team of Sacks and Bicknell as a means to give women more control of their fertility--whether they’re looking to get pregnant, avoid pregnancy naturally, or just understand their cycles better. Their Kindara Fertility Tracker app has already provided thousands of women with the resources to confidently navigate their personal reproductive needs.

Kindara is now in the process of rolling out the sleek, new, basal body temperature (BBT) thermometer Wink, which syncs automatically with their software over Bluetooth. The Wink will allow women to “gain self-awareness, put the power of data in their hands, and feel calm and confident about their fertility.” With the Wink product expected to ship in 2015, Kindara has already netted $50K in pre-sales.

Kindara has been gaining interest from the media and investors alike. Daily Camera, MobiHealthNews, and The Wall Street Journal are among a number of outlets who have covered the quickly-rising company. Instead of relying on traditional crowdfunding platforms to finance their vision, Kindara has instead turned to offline funding from SOS Ventures, Vast Ventures, Drummond Road Capital and multiple angel investors to secure their recent $1.25 million.
